Born from the synergy between Police, a house brand of the De Rigo Vision group, and the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team, this capsule collection of sunglasses combines sporty aesthetics, cutting-edge materials, and a racing spirit. It’s a project that brings together two worlds—fashion and motorsport—under the banner of innovation, resulting in five bold, high-performance models.
Carbon Fiber: The Technical Heart of the Collection
The standout feature of the collection is carbon fiber, the high-tech material used in Formula 1 cars, here supplied directly by the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS team. Valued for its strength, lightness, and durability, carbon fiber is applied to the temples of each pair of glasses, transforming a mechanical component into a design detail.
This choice adds real, tangible value: each piece incorporates actual fragments from the production of the world’s most advanced race cars.
The Models: Bio-Acetate, Hexagonal Details, and Sporty Comfort
The capsule includes four core models—two made of bio-acetate (SPLR47 and SPLR48) and two of injected material (SPLR49 and SPLR50)—plus an exclusive online model, SPLR51.
SPLR47 and SPLR48 stand out for their elegant, timeless design, featuring square and pantos shapes respectively, with bio-nylon lenses and carbon fiber inserts. They pay tribute to the refined simplicity and precise engineering shared by quality eyewear craftsmanship and high-tech race car manufacturing.
SPLR49 and SPLR50 embrace a sportier, more dynamic style. The first has a bold, squared shape, while the second features a daring pilot cut. Both include soft rubber temple tips to ensure comfort even in active situations. Also available with advanced polarized lenses, they offer optimized visibility, even on digital screens.
SPLR51, available exclusively online, rounds out the collection. Made from bio-acetate and offered in four color variants, it blends urban style with sustainable materials.
Each pair in the capsule is an official Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team product. To certify the authenticity and origin of the carbon fiber used, every piece comes with a hologram, an official booklet, and a customized case in the team’s iconic colors.
The Campaign: George Russell and Kimi Antonelli Front the Collection
The launch is supported by a campaign created in collaboration with the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS team. Featured are George Russell, a returning face of Police, and Kimi Antonelli, a rising Formula 1 star. Together, they embody the values of boldness, innovation, and determination that define both the racing world and the brand’s identity.
