As a result of the ongoing coronavirus crisis and uncertainty regarding its future evolution and consequential measures by health authorities and the government in terms of social distancing, it has been decided not to organise events which are unlikely to take place (thus preventing many people responsible for their organisation and prospective visitors being involved in vain). Instead it has been deemed wiser to focus on next year, 2021, when it is more probable that the crisis be over along with its implications for events such as conferences. Therefore, the three congress events focused on three topics connected to the optical industry will be held on the following dates:
- XXIII INTERDISCIPLINARY CONGRESS
“2030: What changes and innovations will there be for correcting vision defects?”
dedicated to specific topics in the optical, optometry and ophthalmic sectors;
Sunday/Monday 7-8 March 2021, Bologna
Distribution in the Optics sector as a Profession and Retail Innovation
Focused on the problems faced by firms in the optics supply chain that have been brought about by the drop in consumption exacerbated by the COVID-19 health crisis, multi-channel competition and new kinds of competition triggered by e-commerce.
Monday, 31 May 2021, Milan
Innovation and change in the diagnosis, treatment and correction of ocular surface deficits
This topic will be discussed at the prestigious “Banca degli Occhi del Veneto” by Dr. Diego Ponzin, director of the “Banca degli Occhi del Veneto” Foundation.
Sunday, 25 October 2020, Venice.
Details, programmes and content of the events sponsored by the Istituto Zaccagnini as part of the “Conferences on Tour 2020” event will be presented at the Preview of the Interdisciplinary Congress 2021 at MIDO Eyewear Show in Milan – 6, 7, and 8 February 2021.
