Bikkembergs by Dirk Bikkembergs fashion eyewear

June 8 2007

The new eyewear collection from Bikkembergs is synonymous with drive, energy and appealing prèt-à-porter. Not simply accessories, they are the intentional protagonists and the focal point of a look. Just wear them and feel like Johnny Depp. A touch of mirrored lens, cyber or Seventies frames, and the eyes take on a chameleon-like quality dictated by style and detail: because seduction isn't just what you wear, it's also the mystery of a glance.
There are two lines, sunglasses and vision frames, strictly unisex and integrated in colors, materials and shapes.

Model BK 544The sun collection is based on super-light and hyper-technological materials that flirt with wraparound shapes. Practical models with temples that rotate instead of folding and new 'soft touch' meterials like imitation rubber.

The result looks to the future. Wraparound and aerodynamic frames veil the eyes with quasi-transparent lenses and light them up in a play of mirrors and reflections. For discreet but high-impact elegance. The logo is more discreet: small and almost invisible, it is either set in a ring or emerges on embellishments of polished or matte metal. There are eleven models in the new collection and they range from sport-glam, in colors from khaki to pink and the typical Bikkembergs green, with smokey or flashate lenses, to the classical aviator drop model in metal or chromed, with the logo in a contrasting color that Magnum P.I. would like as he drives along the roads of California. For anyone who dares to have a more eccentric and futuristic look, there's the model with two-color temples in exclusive hi-tech materials like personalized acetate.

The sixteen vision models propose two different trends. A more intellectual look with minimal, squared-off lines in brushed metal or transparent plastic, the classical, simple and light 'glasant' lunettes in only three pieces: lens, temples and nose-piece. And a more colorful and feisty line with refined, vivacious combinations: front-piece in black&white with the logo in a contrasting color on the temples, or sunnier shades like orange, pink and light blue.

The cases deserve a special mention: real gems in imitation leather, it's almost a pity to hide them.
