Julien Absalon world cross-country mountain bike champion

September 6 2005

French cyclist Julien Absalon, winner of an Olympic gold metal in Athens 2004 and testimonial for Carrera eyewear, last Sunday won the world cross-country championship at Livigno for the second year running.

'I am pleased that I was able to achieve this victory in Italy for the Bianchi-Agos team', stated Absalon. It was not a simple race for the Frenchman who also had a puncture during the last circuit and fell into a stream. Despite the accident and leg cramps, Absalon was able to win the championship shirt which was the main objective of the second part of his racing season.

Carrera glasses and helmets have accompanied the athlete throughout the 2005 season: like the rest of his team, the transalpine champ wears the Carrera DragonFly helmet especially for cycling, and Carrera Shark technical glasses. The quality of all Carrera products is guaranteed by the Safilo Group.
