Philippe Starck has brilliantly transferred an element of soft smoothness into the design of the compact range of washbasins, toilets and baths, Soleil by Starck of Duravit.
The inside of the washbasins recalls the contour of a sandy dune, sculpted by the wind. Smoothness of edges and fluidity of sections allows spaciousness and easy-to-clean surfaces. Thanks to a balanced equilibrium between the dimensions of the washbasin, the tap area and surfaces, the So washbasins are perfect for everyday use. Added to this is the fine outer edge that helps prevent water flowing out and over. Also, Duravit has developed two options to match the furnishing: D-Neo for a more casual look or XSquare for greater refinement. The attention to design is clear also in the Soleil toilets by Starck, with a fine lid that slightly juts out and a delayed closing mechanism to allow it to close gently without noise. The collection offers many options also in terms of materials, with recessed baths in acrylic and freestanding centre-stage baths in DuraSolid.
