Polaroid: here’s what’s new for 2010

April 7 2010

Edwin Land Special Edition Sunglasses
To announce the launch of the UltraSight™ lens in all the Sun Collection, Polaroid Eyewear presented at MIDO 2010 Special Edition sunglasses. This model was created to pay homage to Edwin Land, the inventor of the revolutionary polarizing technology and founder of the Polaroid Corporation.
A classic Aviator-style model featuring the latest innovation in Polaroid polarized lenses and made from the most modern lightweight and ultra-strong materials.
A Limited Edition of only 1500 pairs of sunglasses represents what Edwin Land would have invented today by making use of the most advanced technological performances.

Sun Collections
The UltraSight™ polarizing lens is a feature of all the new Polaroid Sun 2010 Collections, a combination of perfection, quality, design and practicality.
By using only top-quality materials that ensure comfort and excellent performance,
Polaroid has shown that it is attentive to style by proposing frames that are increasingly in tune with fashion eyewear trends. Oversize, square or more elongated and typically Fifties, these shaded and retro-inspired lenses are joined by the classic, evergreen frames like Aviator or Wayfarer that have become icons of style thanks such cult movies as “Top Gun” and “Blues Brothers”.

Vision Collections

The 2010 Vision Collection also has many new additions: lightweight and practical acetate frames in bright, vivacious colors for anyone who wants to be noticed, and rimless for those who like a more discreet look. Polaroid’s historical imperatives - attention to detail and carefully selected materials - are features of all the models.

Kids Collections
Always attentive to the needs of children and teenagers, in addition to its new models with the Polaroid® label, Polaroid also presented the 2010 Disney by Polaroid collection, a combination of fun and protection. Inspired by famous Disney characters from classics like Winnie the Pooh and Mickey Mouse to the more recent Hannah Montana and High School Musical, the many sunglasses and prescription proposals for different age groups are made from sought-after materials and top-quality components. All the sunglasses in the Kids collection have the latest innovation in Polaroid polarizing lenses to protect sensitive eyes.
