Exhibitors: what's new

The multidisciplinary concept, CONCRETE

Written by MIDO | 25/11/2019

A new project entitled ‘Vanni for Artissima, CONCRETE by Cristian Chironi’ encompasses a capsule collection and live event for ARTISSIMA 2019, the international fair of contemporary art, Turin.
Artist Cristian Chironi and eyewear label Vanni have created collaboration frames in metal (4 unique women’s/unisex styles) with photochromic colored lenses and a concept where the shapes and aesthetics of the models are inspired by places Chironi has lived, including Buenos Aires and Marseille. An opaque varnish, imitating the texture of cement, features on the brow of the frames while the temples are designed with “brise-soleil” architecture inspired ‘wings’.
As well as highlighting the edition as part of a live interaction with the artist during Artissima in the Oval Pavilion, the VANNI eyewear showroom in Turin is presenting the collection and its full narrative through to 23rd November 2019.
Through activities of this type with the arts world, Vanni aims to achieve a close rapport between the process of eyewear design, artisan craftsmanship and the visionary qualities and creative processes of modern art.

NICO DESIGN will attend MIDO 2020 with their brand Vanni Occhiali – Booth S19 T20, Pav. 4.
