Oliver Peoples release sunglass and optical frames honouring Paul Newman

Oliver Peoples releases an exclusive eyewear collection inspired by the legacy of legendary actor, race car driver, and philanthropist Paul Newman, featuring a sunglass and optical offering.

The frames are a distinctive addition to the Oliver Peoples estate collection, which features celebrated pairs like Gregory Peck and Cary Grant. The Paul Newman design builds on that legacy with a new expression of enduring style. Inspired by the signature eyewear of its iconic namesake, the frames reflect lasting elegance and understated sophistication, defined by clean lines, everyday cool, and a quiet
confidence that continues to shape modern fashion.
Made in Japan, the Paul Newman and Paul Newman Sun showcase a tear drop lens shape, the iconic shape that became synonymous with his look. The lens is highlighted by a bold acetate design with custom details and a strong colour palette. The collaboration exclusive details include a dedicated metal temple cap featuring an engraved “PLN”, Paul Newman’s personal initials, a custom engraved corewire with a pattern inspired by details found on his racing helmet, and the offering of the hero acetate colour “Newman Blue”, a deep blue tone that pays homage to his piercing blue eyes. Notably, the Paul Newman optical features a light wash blue lens in the black colourway called “Cool Blue,” another nod to his effortless, classic image. Each of these special details celebrate various parts of his life and come together in this new Oliver Peoples icon.
The Oliver Peoples Paul Newman collection supports Newman’s Own Foundation, which continues Paul Newman’s legacy and uses all the profits and royalties it receives to help kids in need and their communities. “Our founder Paul Newman carried authenticity into every facet of his life, including his personal style.
