Italian producer of technical eyewear for sports, RUDY PROJECT has introduced Maximus technology into its RX Direct prescription collection.

The new optical platform, based on Monoblock Technology and a special high-resistance polycarbonate formula, delivers athletes with vision prescriptions offering “unprecedented optical and mechanical performance”.
The RP Optics Maximus lens further expands Rudy Project’s offer of corrective options, and it consolidates the Italian brand’s offer for variety of vision solutions, with seven different solutions.
“With Maximus, we redefine the standard of prescription sport lenses: no external discontinuities, maximum optical stability, and superior visual comfort – even in the most extreme conditions,” says Simone Barbazza, Marketing Director at Rudy Project.
Maximus lenses are crafted from a single optical block, eliminating the traditional inserts visible from the outside. The prescription is carved internally, directly into the lens. Thanks to the mirrored front coating, then, the typical thickness of prescription lenses virtually disappears, ensuring impeccable elegance.
With its seamless aesthetics and no inserts visible from the outside, this solution addresses one of the main limitations of traditional inserts: the new Rudy Project models, in fact, deliver maximum functionality without aesthetic compromises.
The Maximus lens is available with three of Rudy Project’s top-of-range models: Turbolence – a hybrid, multi-sport eyewear; Astral Sphere – designed for running and trail running; and Cutline – ideal for skiing and cycling. The new solution is offered in 10 different lens colours, compatible with all existing frame colours, resulting in a highly diversified offering. The Rudy Project models equipped with Maximus lenses are available with both single-vision and progressive prescriptions.
