Tanabiku Eyewear

Written by MIDO | 27/11/2025
Tanabiku means long-lasting clouds or haze drifting in the sky — a motif often seen in traditional Japanese paintings such as Ukiyo-e over 200 years ago, symbolizing something that endures over time.

Through this name, we express both the timeless craftsmanship of Japan and our wish for these traditions to continue far into the future, even as Japanese manufacturing faces challenging times.

Tanabiku Eyewear embodies genuine Japanese authenticity, tradition, and craftsmanship — a quiet but powerful statement of skill and spirit that endures, just like the clouds that drift yet never fade.

Turning the current limited production capacity into a strength, each model is produced in a limited run of 200 pieces.
Every frame comes with its own serial number and a matching guarantee card, crafted from traditional Japanese washi paper, to enhance its individual value and authenticity.

After an extensive 18-month production process, each piece is born from the ultimate level of Japanese craftsmanship.
