The multifaceted designer, Veronika Wildgruber has released new styles for the autumn/winter, in a collection that offers interesting work in the subtraction of volumes, and sophisticated colour compositions - unveiled through the layering and bevelling of specially developed acetate materials.
Some frames appear to be drawn out of thin air, others trick the eye into perceiving impossible closed loops.
Aesthetic tension arises from contrasts, such as delicate circles juxtaposed with bold brows, glossy bridges against matt surfaces, and smooth versus raw edges. Though exploring a variety of elements, the collection remains anchored to a cohesive, instantly recognisable aesthetic.
The selection of models includes style Parker, an acetate frame with a strong, sculptural silhouette. The shift in thickness creates a natural gradient and adds rhythm to this very defined unisex shape. Model Jackson combines elegance with casualness. The acetate parts are embedded in a sheet of steel, creating an appealing contrast between the thin bridge and the voluminous acetate parts of the front pieces. A marvel of craftsmanship with the signature twist on the bridge, model Ren is presented as a panto shape “between precision and wonder”.
