It is not an optical effect but a "transforming" coating: the micro-crystal silica lenses are covered with highly refractive metal oxide which, depending on the strength and angle of light, produces different shades of color that blend together in a "liquid" result of a thousand nuances that have never been seen before.   The same coating is also used on frames that respond to sunlight by releasing colors that are always different.
