Götti announce BIONIC line

The glasses are printed in 3D from a single material based on the seeds of the castor bean plant, a sustainable resource. The bio-based polyamide offers greater flexibility compared to other 3D-printed frames, according to Götti, and feature a new hinge, inspired by human ball-and-socket joints. This reflects the transfer of natural phenomena to the world of technology – for simplicity, reliability, and ease of use, they stated.
The BIONIC eyewear has also been systematically pared down to offer a front piece and a pair of temples, with no additional screws or other aids for the hinge. As such, the entire pair of glasses is made from one basic material so enabling optimized eyewear manufacturing with short transport distances, less energy consumption, and straightforward recycling.
The glasses are manufactured in the Götti factory in Switzerland. From the initial sketches, technical construction, and all stages of production through to final assembly, the glasses are made under one roof, eliminating any unnecessary transport. Also Swiss-made and developed by Götti is the simple kraft paper packaging, which can also be used as notepaper, as well as the innovative glasses case. The eco-friendly material can be folded into two different case types: it is 100% made in Switzerland, and also operates as an essential eyewear accessory.
