A new line called MINAMOTO, launched for Autumn/Winter 21/22

A new collection called Minamoto, which means "origin” in Japanese, has been announced by CHARMANT Group. According to Charmant, the Minamoto brand is rooted in Japanese tradition, authenticity, and craftsmanship, and puts all attention on detail and beauty, with a timeless and minimalistic style. The logo is a Japanese kanji, handmade by a calligrapher working for the Group. The inscription translates to “The Origin” and appears on the titanium end tips as a formal signature of the brand. Discreet engravings reflect the precision and quality that Japanese craftsmen are known for and highlight the attention to detail, a key focus for this line.
All Minamoto frames are made from 99.4% pure Japanese titanium, the highest quality titanium on the market. The temples are made from beta titanium to balance flexibility and comfort. Nose pads and end tips are also made of pure titanium for longevity and comfort.
Minamoto eyewear is designed for those who appreciate beautiful things with a meaningful story. The launch collection consists of 12 styles in total with 4 women's models, 4 men’s models and 4 unisex designs. The names of the frames are inspired by characters, actresses and actors as well as the director of the popular Japanese movie “The Seven Samurai”, which was the inspiration for the Minamoto campaign. Furthermore, a foldable case is made from 100 % organic Washi paper by a small family business based in the Fukui prefecture Japan, where the tradition of Washi paper making is kept alive for over 1,500 years. The special pattern on the paper is called “Sumi-Nagashi”, handcrafted with Japanese ink using a calligraphy brush.
