Vision Business Forum: an appointment with business
“We are certain that, over the years, this appointment will become essential for our sector” stated Andrea Garagnani, president of Assogruppi Ottica, “and its first edition already represents an important goal. It testifies to the combined work undertaken by the most representative optics associations. A solidarity that is even more necessary today because of a crisis that could seriously undermine our world and damage all its players”.
An appointment that is more than a conference and is not an exhibition. Characterizing the two days are the large spaces reserved for exhibiting companies which will also be able to organize targeted product presentations for opticians, an important occasion for taking an in-depth look at aspects that are more closely linked to business. The Vision Business Forum website has a constantly updated list of participants and will enable companies to contact established or potential optician-clients and opticians to request information or arrange appointments before the event in Rome. One of the aims of the forum is to be an incentive for direct dialogue among producers, distributers and opticians and for discussing the best commercial strategies.
At 10am Sunday, September 6, after a brief welcome by Andrea Garagnani, Vittorio Tabacchi, president of Anfao and Mido, and Giulio Velati, president of Federottica, the first edition of the Vision Business Forum will be officially opened by Andrea Farinet, economist and speaker already known to our public, with a short introduction to the day’s discussions and a brief excursus into the economic situation and Made in Italy in Italy and throughout the world.
An important talk before entering into the heart of the program and looking at the state of the optics market in Italy, with the contribution of Gerardo Pecoriello, Financial Management Master professor at the La Sapienza University in Rome.
Sunday morning closes with Sandro Castaldo, director of the marketing area at SDA Bocconi, who will talk about the levers for overcoming the crisis: from assortment management to the organization of buying and the new stimuli provided by marketing.
At 3pm, Erika Mallarini, SDA Bocconi professor, will continue the morning’s discussions with a talk about store management, an examination of hypothetical and real profitability and a description of preparing a business plan.
Sunday closes with a round table with the representatives of Assogruppi, Anfao, Mido, Federottica, companies and supermarkets, to discuss the relationship between eyesight professionals.
Monday, September 7, the subjects will be purely scientific, low vision, sport vision and progressive lenses, from the viewpoint of business, which characterizes the Vision Business Forum.
