Commissione Difesa Vista ETS brings visual prevention to Milano Beauty Week 2025

Commissione Difesa Vista ETS brings visual prevention to Milano Beauty Week 2025

On September 17 and 18, meetings, immersive experiences and interactive activities will raise awareness about the importance of visual prevention and eye health.

Among the key players at Milano Beauty Week 2025, Commissione Difesa Vista ETS will take part for the first time on September 17 and 18 with an engaging program focused on visual prevention and eye health—both closely tied to daily self-care practices.

Milano Beauty Week, a week dedicated to the culture of beauty and well-being, is a citywide event featuring initiatives, talks, and experiences that highlight the cosmetics sector and its connection with self-care.

Within this context, CDV will host an immersive and informative activity to promote a culture of beauty that is both mindful and attentive to eye health.

The program will open on Wednesday, September 17, with a roundtable discussion starting at 5:00 p.m. at Palazzo Bovara, Sala delle Colonne.

On this occasion, Commissione Difesa Vista ETS will engage in dialogue alongside other organizations committed to prevention, including AIL, Italian Red Cross – Milan Committee, Dermocosm, Fondazione Veronesi ETS, and LILT Milano Monza Brianza, with the aim of fostering a shared discussion on health and well-being.

The meeting will feature Prof. Francesco Loperfido, Head of the General Ophthalmology Service at San Raffaele Hospital in Milan and CDV consultant, who will address key issues related to visual prevention, with a special focus on eye protection against sun exposure and the relationship between the eyes and cosmetics.

Special attention will be given to correct daily habits, with the goal of providing the public with practical tools and awareness to safeguard visual health in a simple and accessible way.

On Thursday, September 18, in Via Mercanti, from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., the Beauty Cube of Prevention will be set up: an interactive and informative space where, with the support of ophthalmologists from San Raffaele Hospital in Milan and the CDV ETS team, visitors will learn more about best practices for safe make-up removal, proper use of tanning lamps, eye protection during sun exposure—at the beach, pool, or in the mountains—managing the relationship between make-up and dry eyes, and the most appropriate behaviors for contact lens wearers, especially during the summer months.

On the same day, CDV will also present an immersive experience enriched by virtual reality headsets, allowing visitors to simulate real-life scenarios and everyday situations while receiving practical advice for eye care. The aim is to promote a new awareness: eye health is an integral part of self-care and beauty.

“Milano Beauty Week is a nationally significant event that gives us the opportunity to draw attention to visual well-being in a new and cross-sector context,” comments Vittorio Tabacchi, President of Commissione Difesa Vista ETS.

“Eye health is an essential part of self-care, and we believe it is crucial to raise public awareness on the importance of protecting vision even during everyday beauty routines. Even as summer comes to an end, exposure to the sun’s rays continues in the following months, making it even more important to adopt conscious habits to protect eye health.”

Starting Thursday, September 18, the Commissione Difesa Vista website will offer a wide range of practical tips and useful insights to protect the eyes during summer, with special focus on make-up use to ensure both visual well-being and safety.
