Commissione Difesa Vista Renews Its Commitment to Vision Prevention at the 2025 Race for the Cure

Commissione Difesa Vista Renews Its Commitment to Vision Prevention at the 2025 Race for the Cure

From May 8 to 11 at the Circus Maximus in Rome: free screenings, immersive experiences, and workshops for children.

Also in 2025, Commissione Difesa Vista ETS confirms its participation in the Race for the Cure, the most important event in the fight against breast cancer, organized by Susan G. Komen Italia. From May 8 to 11, CDV ETS will be an official partner of the event at the Circus Maximus in Rome, offering free vision screenings and prevention-focused activities for both adults and children.

During the event, Commissione Difesa Vista ETS will host three areas dedicated to raising awareness and protecting eyesight: the Health Village, the Kids Area, and the Sports Village.

At the Health Village stand, visitors will have access to free vision screenings thanks to the presence of volunteer ophthalmologists, orthoptists, and opticians from the GreenVision group. This year, professional opticians will be joined by students from the Optics and Optometry degree course at Roma Tre University, giving them valuable hands-on experience while supporting CDV ETS’s vision prevention efforts.

The Kids Area, designed for preschool and elementary school children, will be active in the mornings of Thursday, May 8 and Friday, May 9. This space offers younger participants a fun and engaging way to learn about vision prevention through workshops, games, educational activities, and the distribution of informative gadgets.

Finally, in the Sports Area, visitors will enjoy an immersive experience with virtual reality headsets. This engaging path will allow them to compare optimal vision with vision altered by certain visual impairments, showing firsthand the impact these issues can have on sports performance.

Commissione Difesa Vista ETS is proud to continue its collaboration with Race for the Cure for the ninth consecutive year, promoting the importance of visual health and prevention for all ages. Participation in the event provides a valuable opportunity to raise public awareness of vision wellness through engaging and concrete initiatives.

Once again, this year’s edition will be supported by technological partners ZEISS, ESSILOR, and Frastema Ophthalmics, who will provide cutting-edge equipment for CDV ETS’s vision screenings.

“Our commitment to prevention is expressed through a constant presence in the community and direct engagement with people,” says Vittorio Tabacchi, President of Commissione Difesa Vista ETS. “During Race for the Cure, we want to offer not only tangible services but also engaging experiences—especially for young people—to foster a true culture of vision prevention from an early age.”
