FONDA becomes a Benefit Corporation

FONDA becomes a Benefit Corporation

FONDA - the company specialising in hi-tech optical solutions to help people retain their vision, even in the event of serious ophthalmic conditions, and which participates this year for the first time in MIDO 2024, has completed its evolution into a Benefit Corporation.

With this new status, the Genoa-based company confirms its commitment and innate vocation for social usefulness, becoming the second Benefit Corporation in the Italian optical industry.

“Our company was created with the mission of improving people’s quality of life. To do so, we have always been committed to research, education and awareness-raising activities”, states Michele Jurilli – founder and Chairman of FONDA. “These are the values which guide us in our work every day”, he concludes.

Drivers of social impact

Wellness, culture and innovation are the three drivers of social impact for FONDA, around which the Genoa-based company has constructed the basis of their status as a Benefit Corporation, and on which it will continue to focus in order to pursue its goal of positive impact on society

Specifically, the ongoing exploration of the issue of visual health and scientific research are the key areas which the company intends to concentrate, in order to create even more advanced technologies to assist people in need.

To constantly monitor its social impact, the company will involve all its Vista Fragile® Centres in the gathering of data regarding improved life quality of individuals, their families and social relevance.

We are proud to have achieved this goal which shows even more clearly the attention we pay to values that have always been part of our mission but which we felt we needed to formally acknowledge as a commitment by making it part of our company bylaws,” adds Jurilli. “This certification puts in black and white what we are by nature, and establishes the direction we will take in our future”, he ends.
