Marcolin opens its doors for ApritiModa 2025: a journey into the heart of Made in Italy eyewear
The Longarone-based company confirms its participation in the initiative celebrating Italian craftsmanship, welcoming visitors inside its design, prototyping, and production departments.
Once again for the 2025 edition of ApritiModa, Marcolin takes part in the national event that invites the public to discover the hidden places of Italian fashion.
The initiative, conceived by journalist Cinzia Sasso, returns on October 25–26 for its ninth consecutive year, under the patronage of the Italian Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy, the Ministry of Culture, the Municipality of Milan, the FAI – Italian National Trust, and the Altagamma Foundation.
Marcolin — the first and only eyewear company in Italy to have supported the project since 2021 — will open the doors of its Longarone headquarters on Saturday, October 25, offering visitors a guided tour through the creative and manufacturing stages that bring a pair of Made in Italy glasses to life.
A path through creativity, craftsmanship, and innovation
The program includes three tour sessions — at 9:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., and 2:00 p.m. — for groups of visitors who will experience a 90-minute journey. After a brief introduction to the company, guests will enter the Product Design Department, where each frame begins to take shape: from analyzing future trends, developed over eighteen months ahead of market launch, to defining the aesthetic and functional details that make each model unique.
The visit continues into the Prototyping Department, the artisanal heart of the process, where craftsmen model the first samples by hand starting from a sketch — a crucial step that lays the foundation for subsequent large-scale production. T
he final stop is the Production Atelier, a newly inaugurated space within Marcolin’s HQ dedicated to crafting high-end frames. Here, more than sixty production phases merge advanced technology with manual expertise, culminating in the finishing stage, where each pair of glasses is refined and inspected to ensure maximum quality and durability.
“Opening our doors means opening ourselves to stories”
“At Marcolin, we believe that the true value of a company lies in its authentic connection with the local community,” said Sabrina Paulon, Group HR Director.
“Growing together means giving voice to people, celebrating local culture, and enhancing the excellence around us. Our participation in ApritiModa is a concrete example of this commitment: opening our doors means opening ourselves to storytelling, beauty, and sharing.
The same spirit inspired our first Family Day, a special event where employees welcomed their loved ones into the company, turning workplaces into spaces of discovery and connection. And with our recent partnership with TEDx, we have chosen to embrace dialogue, innovation, and ideas that inspire change — because we believe that every shared thought can create value for the business, for people, and for the community.”
A collective project celebrating Made in Italy
With more than one hundred companies and ateliers across Italy, ApritiModa continues to represent a collective journey through the crafts, places, and people who preserve Italy’s artisanal know-how. The goal is to make creative workshops and production processes accessible to the public, offering a behind-the-scenes look at the culture of craftsmanship that defines Made in Italy.
Marcolin’s participation contributes to this shared vision, showcasing up close the excellence and complexity of the eyewear sector — a world where tradition, innovation, and local roots come together in perfect balance.
