Renewal of Offices at the Bilateral Body for the Eyewear Sector and New Initiatives for Employees

Erminio Sciore (FEMCA-CISL) elected as new President, with Vice President Sabrina Paulon (ANFAO). New measures approved in support of maternity and paternity, scholarships, and free training courses.

During the Assembly of the Bilateral Body for the Eyewear Sector (EBO) held on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, with the renewal of official positions on the agenda, Erminio Sciore (FEMCA-CISL) was elected as the new President for the upcoming three-year term. He will be joined by Sabrina Paulon as Vice President, representing ANFAO.

EBO has also approved for 2025 a comprehensive welfare program to provide concrete support to employees and their families.

In particular, the maternity/paternity support fund has been confirmed, offering a one-time bonus, which has been increased this year to €500 per child (€1,000 in the case of twins, etc.). The benefit is available to employees of companies registered with EBO, with a permanent employment contract (not in a trial period), who have had or adopted a child and have an ISEE (Equivalent Economic Situation Indicator) of €30,000 or less. Applications must be submitted within 60 days of the child's birth. The bonus can be requested via the portal: www.entebilateraleocchialeria.it.

The study support grant has also been confirmed, aimed at employees of the eyewear sector and/or their children who will graduate in 2025 from upper secondary school with a final exam grade of 90/100 or higher. For 2025, the grant amounts will be €600 for grades between 90/100 and 98/100, and €1,000 for grades of 99/100 and 100/100. Applications must be submitted by October 30.

Through the funding of training courses for employees in the eyewear sector, EBO supports continuous professional development and the enhancement of digital skills. These courses are delivered online through the Copernico e-learning platform, developed by ABLE – CERTOTTICA and supported by EBO. Participation is free for both employees and associated companies and also meets the training obligations required by the sector’s national collective labor agreement (CCNL).

As part of the Copernico project, a free workshop titled “Impact ESG Strategies and Solutions: Towards a New Sustainable Competitiveness” will be held soon at the Luiss Business School Dolomiti Hub, Palazzo Bembo, Belluno. The workshop is open to companies already registered, those not yet enrolled, and all employees interested in learning more about the professional development opportunities offered for free through the platform.

"I am honored to take on this role and I thank my colleagues from FILCTEM CGIL and UILTEC UIL for their trust, as well as Lorraine Berton, from whom I take over, for the valuable work done so far. I am confident that the fruitful collaboration between ANFAO and our trade union organizations will continue to deliver practical results, ensuring continuity of the income support and training services provided in recent years to employees in the eyewear industry,"Erminio Sciore, FEMCA-CISL – President of EBO

"We strongly believe in the active participation of all parties at this table, to support all the welfare tools we have jointly planned and implemented, in the interest of both companies and, above all, workers,"
Sabrina Paulon, Vice President of EBO and ANFAO
