SILMO Paris 2024 opens tomorrow and runs until September 23 at the Parc des Expositions of Paris Nord Villepinte, where MIDO, the international eyewear trade show from Milan, and ANFAO, the National Association of Optical Goods Manufacturers, will be present at booth P034 in Hall 6. Their presence highlights Italy’s importance in the global eyewear industry, providing a showcase for the excellence of Made in Italy and strengthening the global network of the sector.
This year, SILMO will host a strong Italian representation, with around a hundred Italian companies among the 900 exhibitors from 42 countries. Italian firms are also among the nominees for the SILMO d'Or, further confirming their prominent role in the global optical industry.
Alongside major multinational corporations, many small and medium-sized Italian enterprises, including several ANFAO members, will be showcasing the excellence and innovation of Made in Italy.
As for the nominations for the prestigious SILMO d'Or, which will celebrate its 30th anniversary on Saturday, September 21 at the Carrousel du Louvre with couturier Alexis Mabille, Italian companies are among the top contenders this year, once again confirming their excellence on the global eyewear stage. In the category "Technological Innovation in Eyewear," Blackfin is competing with the model "Aero Loop." In the "Technological Innovation in Connected Glasses" category, EssilorLuxottica received a nomination with the "Ray-Ban Meta with AI" model. In the "Sport" category, Marcolin is in the running with the "Adidas Dunamis PRO" model, while Out Of is nominated for the "Acuity" model.
Italy also shines in the "Lenses" category, thanks to Divel Italia with its "Elements" model. In the "Optical Frames - Designers" category, Safilo leads the nominations with the David Beckham, Isabel Marant, and Carrera brands, alongside De Rigo Vision with Nina Ricci. Finally, in the "Sunglasses - Designers" category, Safilo is once again in the spotlight with David Beckham, Isabel Marant, and Marc Jacobs. Italian companies thus reaffirm their prominent role at this important international event.
Italy is also represented by Vanni, one of the companies nominated for the Responsible Company Prize 2024, an award that recognizes companies with a global, innovative, and responsible approach to ethical, environmental, and social issues, actively contributing to a more sustainable future.
