Eyewear and Optics: new additions to the Veneto Regional Contract for Small Businesses

On 22 May in Marghera, an agreement was reached on the first supplemental contract for the Veneto region for small businesses, eyewear and optics. This resolution, which integrates the long bureaucratic process that began in 1996 when the regional contract became national, involves 500 companies in the Veneto region and a total of 2,800 workers. The amendments approved on Wednesday involve wage increases linked to the results achieved by the entire sector for the previous year (18 Euros a month effective from July) and salaries based on the hours worked. A lump sum of 60 Euros will be paid in two parts in June and October.
