Bulgari Eyewear Launched in India
Bulgari sunglasses and ophthalmic frames will now also be available in India. The frames, for men and women, in metal and acetate, titanium and gold produced and distributed in cooperation with Luxottica will be sold through a select number of authorized retailers nation-wide.
The 2003 Eyewear collection reflects the philosophy behind all Bvlgari creations - a classic balance between tradition and innovation, excellent execution and great comfort. Bvlgari's distinctive style is coupled with Luxottica cutting-edge technology enhancing classic aesthetic motifs - Bvlgari-Bvlgari, Quadrato and Eccentrica among others - and offering top technological features.
Sunglasses and ophthalmic frames will be sold starting Rs.15,000.The Bvlgari family descends from an ancient family of Greek silversmiths. The founder of the family, Sotirio emigrated to Italy where he opened his first store in 1884. The 1970s marked the international expansion with the opening of stores in New York, Paris, Geneva and Monte-Carlo building towards the over 90 stores Bvlgari has today, beside the franchisee and wholesale business.
In 1995 the Holding Company Bulgari Spa is listed on the Milan Stock Exchange. It is now also treated at the IRS of London Stock Exchange. In 1997 an agreement was signed with Luxottica for the production and distribution of eyewear collections worldwide.
