Chubby Checker Accuses Aspex Eyewear of Misappropriation and False Endorsement

Chubby Checker Chubby Checker, the famed American rock-and-roll star best known to the general public for his song 'Let's twist again', recently filed a lawsuit against Aspex Eyewear Inc. for misappropriating his famous song as a jingle for a television ad for bendable eyeglass frames. The allegation is misappropriation of 'voice' and false endorsement.
An attorney for the company announced that Aspex had properly secured the rights to use the song.

Checker also has another lawsuit pending. The singer has accused clothing manufacturer Norm Thompson Outfitters of producing a set of T-shirts with the 'Chubby Checker' logo on them without obtaining the artist's permission.
