New Logistics Center for Marcolin

The Marcolin plant, located in Longarone (BL), is expanding. The firm is enlarging and modernizing its logistics area in order to improve performance in the physical handling of inventories. This will help optimize delivery time and procedures to create an increasingly effective interface with the market.

The transfer of the finished-product warehouse to a new building, just a few hundred meters from the current one, will permit the creation of a new operating center with an area of 4000 square meters, 1500 square meters larger than the current warehouse.

Part of the area that will be cleared following the transfer will be used to expand the production area devoted to eyeglass finishing work. The other part will house new offices, to expand and update the headquarters of the Belluno-based company.

The new operations will involve the application of one of the most recent innovations in the field of logistics: the Warehouse Management System (WMS). Alongside the existing central system, WMS will make it possible to manage the location of merchandise with the very latest technologies, such as radio frequencies and control of lot mobility, offering significant advantages in terms of efficiency and the streamlined use of space.
