Research, Moving Objects Are Easier to See if They Are Small
The bigger an object is, the easier it is to see: there can be little doubt about that. But if we follow a large, fairly bright object with our eyes, we could find it more difficult than keeping our eyes on a very small moving object, such as a tennis ball.
This is the claim made by a group of psychologists and neuroscientists headed by professor Duje Tadin at the Vanderbildt University (in Nashville, Tennessee). Tadin and colleagues have discovered that when we watch large moving objects that blend with the background, our visual perception system seems to be hampered in some way.
