The Be Wise - Shade Your Eyes campaign, due to appear in newspapers and on television, aims to educate Americans about how prolonged exposure to ultraviolet rays without suitable protection will have dangerous effects in the long run. An explanation is given of the various methods of protection, such as buying and wearing sunglasses, how to wear photochromatic or ophthalmic lenses with anti-UV protection filters, and emphasis will be placed on the importance of eye tests.
