Angelo Marani, an increasingly global label

This spring will see the opening in Athens of the first Angelo Marani monobrand boutique, which will be followed within the year with more openings in Geneva, Lisbon and Taipei.

The label came into being in 1983 and it is currently distributed to around 1,000 outlets in 40 countries worldwide, 400 of which are in Italy. This country represents its primary market and provides 40% of billings (20 million euros in 2003). The remaining 60% comes from exports.

The label is also becoming an increasing global brand: Angelo Marani, founder and creative director of the line, is putting new strategic synergies in place with the creation of accessories, purses, bijoux and eyewear to complement the collection of women's ready-to-wear.

The first line has already been joined by the Glam brand, a collection aimed at the younger consumer. A new, entirely Made in Italy brand of knitwear is also upcoming and will make its debut in spring/summer 2005.
