Fashion: Pitti Immagine Uomo opens 2004
The first fashion appointment for 2004 will be Pitti Immagine Uomo at Florence's Fortezza da Basso from January 8 through 11.
This 65th edition will see a special performance by the Belgian stylist, Veronique Branquinho, who will present her menswear fall/winter 2004/05 collection at the Teatro Goldoni. Another event worthy of note will be the launch of the Sewn by Marc Ecko line, a collection of streetwear packed with self-mocking references to the repetitiveness and conformism of today's pop culture.
Taking place at the Stazione Leopolda at the same time as Pitti Immagine Uomo is the exhibition called 'Excess moda & underground negli anni 80', a retrospective dedicated to the Eighties and to all the trends of that period which are making an irrepressible comeback.
