Intercast and Nxt at Mido

During Mido 2004, the optical polymer Nxt will be the ambassador for new applications and new styles certified by the guarantee of the material's lifelong shatterproof qualities.

In collaboration with the Research Center of the Istituto Europeo di Design, Milan, a world preview during the May 7 open day and official presentation at 3 p.m. at the Intercast stand (Pav. 15/II, stand B53/57), will present the results of the research that has made use of Nxt's unique characteristics and has led to the production of three exclusive prototypes for glasses that show Nxt's potential to innovative shapes by overcoming the limits of current materials.

The Helsinki and Mantide prototypes will be presented for the very first time.
Made entirely in Nxt, Helsinki is ideal for the fashion market: it guarantees vision comfort and can be worn every day. The characterizing element is the compound curve with the lens that also becomes the nose-piece. This model can be produced exclusively in Nxt.
Mantide is characterized by material torsion and the extreme shape, which is made possible only thanks to Nxt's extraordinary resistance to weakening and cracking stress.

Intercast will also present new solutions and treatments, including Nxt polarizing and polarizing-photochromic lenses, in addition to the wider family of polarizing lenses in CR-39 and polycarbonate.
