Intercast and Nxt: big success at Mido 2004
The presentation of the new prototypes in Nxt the optical polymer for which Intercast holds the exclusive patent rights, made by the company in collaboration with the Research Center of the European Institute of Design, came to a highly successful conclusion at Mido 2004.
At the presentation, the numerous journalists from Italy and abroad, important designers and companies in the sector were especially impressed by the boldness of the shapes achieved by the new models.
'People were hugely interested in the technical details and in the new style proposals, which were made possible thanks only to the extreme robustness and versatility of the Nxt material', pointed out Baiocchi, engineer and president of Intercast, who was delighted by the success of the event.
The two prototypes presented were Helsinki and Mantide, both patented and owned by Intercast Europe.
Made entirely in Nxt, the predominant feature of Helsinki is its compound curve where the lens is also the nose piece.
Mantide, on the other hand, is a completely new glasses which was impossible to design before the arrival of Nxt, the material in which they can only be made. A new style with daring shapes and a technological heart.
