Mikli's 'red passion'

Mikli's 'red passion'

Geometrical, classical, timeless, the eyewear in the Alain Mikli 2004 collection is an 'exhibition' in red: for vision or sunglasses, the French designer has chosen the color of fire and the symbol of love and passion, but also of importance and power (the king's cardinals and musketeers), emergency (the Red Cross), and speed (Ferrari).

And so we have Mikli Red, Red Twist (which turns white with a change in the light), Red Velvet (ribbed to enhance depth), Red Stable (frames with a metal 'bodywork'), Red combinations (metal and acetate combined), Red Horn and Red Granite.

Model Diamants/Rubis is an engraved frame worked like a precious stone. To achieve this result, the formation of waves of light between the transparent acetate front piece and the Mikli Red temples, the French designer invented a new processing technique.

The Mythic frame is engraved acetate worked entirely as a separate material. Huge and harmonious, Magnum is engraved acetate faceted like a jewel, a 'parure' for the eyes. And sunglasses model, Combiné Pilote, a drop-shaped combination of acetate and metal, is inspired by the Sixties.

Lastly, Red Stable: three 3D frames in titanium with a curvaceous shape achieved thanks to hi-tech soldering.
