Revo celebrates K2 conquest

Revo celebrates K2 conquest

This year is the 50th anniversary of the K2 conquest by Italian mountaineers Compagnoni and Lacedelli. Revo, the Luxottica Group brand that's linked to adventure, extreme challenges and memorable feats, has launched a new model for the occasion: Revo 4010, the perfect combination of sport and science.

Revo model 4010Highly technical, made in injected proprionate, model 4010 has an eye shield incorporated directly in the frames, which is indispensable at high altitudes and provides the eyes with side protection from reflections from the sun, the passage of air, wind and from the worst weather conditions in general.

With its wide field of vision (caliber 54), the front piece has base 6 lenses in tempered, crush-proof optical glass that guarantee transparency and excellent scratch and stress resistance. They envelop the exclusive Light Management System (Lms) technology developed by Nasa. Each lens features a 'coating' obtained by superimposing up to a maximum of 12 microlayers of titanium oxide and silicon, which act as vision equalizers by dosing and selecting the light that reaches the eye.

Optically perfect, the lenses intercept and block 100% of all ultraviolet rays (A, B and C) and up to 95% of infrared rays; they also filter out the short-wave blue light that clouds color vision (and is responsible for many sight disturbances) thanks to the refraction interference principle.

Model Revo 4010 also comes in a version with a polarizing filter, to block out the blinding glare of reflections from snow or water, for eyes that are always vigilant, relaxed and rested. The plastic polarizing filter inserted inside the lens is mechanically treated to create a 'shutter effect', which lets the light through, but the polarized reflections are totally blocked.

Lastly, model Revo 4010 will also take prescription lenses.
