Silhouette at 'Fashion For Children' Gala
At 6 this evening at La Banque on Via Bassano Porrone 6, Milan, Efesto, Rotaract and the Camera Nazionale della Moda will be presenting the fifth edition of the Fashion for Children Gala due to take place on June 25 at Villa Erba di Cernobbio (Como).
Present at the meeting will be Mario Boselli, Chairman of the Camera Nazionale della Moda; Cristina Parodi, Fashion Gala 2004 presenter; and Massimiliano Frassi, President of the Associazione Prometeo Onlus.
The Gala is an important showcase for trends in Italian style as interpreted by leading and internationally-famous stylists. Ever since it first began, the event has been linked to fundraising activities on behalf of children and it has raised over 120,000 euros since 2000.
Proceeds from the 2004 edition will go to the Associazione Prometeo Onlus, a worldwide operation for defense against child abuse. This fifth edition of the Fashion Gala will be presented by Cristina Parodi and the themes will be fashion, art and show business.
Important names in Italian fashion will be on the catwalk to present their spring-summer 2004 creations: clothes by Coveri, Clips and Calvin Klein Jeans; swimsuits by Parah; accessories by Silhouette (sunglasses), and Ck Calvin Klein Watches & Jewelry.
The children themselves wanted to make their own contribution to the Fashion for Children project, and in fact the Fashion Gala will be the perfect place for an unusual and surprising exhibition of art by youngsters. 'A little light. Fairytales and fables dressed by children' is the title of the vernissage of drawings and illustrations by children of 4 to 10 years of age who have used their imagination to dress fairytales.
The evening will conclude with the presentation of the 'Light for Young' award to a symbolic personality who has been distinguished throughout the year for the style and moral, intellectual and professional quality of communicating guiding values to young people.
