Usa: the secretary for commerce urges China to open its markets

Don EvansIn an open letter to the Wall Street Journal, Secretary for Commerce Don Evans called firmly on China to open its vast market to Stateside products and services. 'We went to China with a very clear message: the United States has opened it markets, now it's China's turn...'.

Although within a trading framework that this year will touch 200 billion dollars with a deficit for the Usa which could be around 140 billion dollars, and 50 billion dollars of direct American investment in China, it is an explicit and very significant message.

Again according to the head of Us trading policies, the Usa will not hesitate to oppose the China's industrial, financial and environmental policies, which are now damaging the expansion of the 'stars and stripes' export of goods and services.

United States safeguarding actions within the Wto have in fact increased for the semiconductors, fabrics, clothing and furniture sectors, whereas 'pressing' has begun to reduce fundamental state aid for a very large number of Chinese industrial and tertiary sectors.
