Validity of Obe-patents in China

Obe, one of the leaders in the sector of innovative optical components, mainly spring hinges, has reached an important agreement with the company Yuhuan Zhengda, operating in the Chinese market.

In fact there was a dispute between Obe and Zhengda concerning Obe patent No. 96191123.9. This patent covers an important manufacturing process of the key part 'side hinge'. The 'side hinge' guarantees the function and the life time of a spring hinge.

The company Zhengda acknowledge the validity of the relevant Obe patents and confirmed not to produce, sell or offer anymore products that violate these patents.

This settlement is seen in the board at Obe as an example for the future which certainly will have a reaction to other lawsuits in China, as Obe is fighting here in several other cases because of infringements regarding its patents.
