Versace: new Board of Directors appointed

The Gianni Versace SpA General Meeting, held on August 27 in Milan, unanimously appointed the new Board of Directors which will hold office for the three-year period 2004-2006 and is composed of: Santo Versace, Donatella Versace, Leonardo Del Vecchio (chairman of Luxottica, the Medusa partner for eyewear), Giancarlo Di Risio, Marco Salomoni, Paolo Colombo and Massimo Cremona. The GM also re-appointed Santo Versace as chairman of the Board of Directors.

During its next meeting, scheduled for September 2, the Board of Directors will confer company appointments and will nominate Donatella Versace as Vice-Chairman and Giancarlo Di Risio as Chief Executive.

Gianni Versace SpA shareholders underscored that its Board of Directors has been enriched by the high levels of professionalism of its new independent members and by significant management strengthening through the appointment of a Chief Executive of the caliber of Giancarlo Di Risio, who has held equally responsible positions at It Holding and Fendi (Lvmh Group).

These appointments are representative of the shareholders' desire and determination to support projects aimed at strengthening the Group. Daniele Ballestrazzi was confirmed as Managing Director.
