Barberini and Riccardo Brigliadori announce new challenges
At the 35th edition of Mido, Barberini enriched its exhibit of highly-specialized sun lenses with a day dedicated to promoting vision quality with the presence of Ricky Brigliadori, 5-times Italian gliding champion, an active testimonial of the performance of the new, ultra-slim, polarized glass lenses Plz1.8 in the most extreme conditions.
Ricky Brigliadori was the guest of honor on Saturday, May 7, when he proficiently and confidently answered questions by the reporters. Taking pride of place with Ricky were the fabulous photographs taken during flights, the scale model of the competition glider used in the race at Brigliadori, and all the Barberini advertising inaugurated during Mido.
Specifically, the Barberini poster, distributed to special circuits along the routes that lead to Fieramilano, and the color advertisements which were published at the same time in Panorama and Il Venerdì. The double pages which appeared in the top specialist press also launched the new Barberini competition, aimed at Italian opticians: starting this year, the company's website can also be used to enroll.
The protagonist of this new Barberini commitment is the polarized super glass lens Plz1.8. Ultra-slim and high on performance, it is a concentration of technology and first-rate vision in a lens that is just 1.8 mm thick. The in-flight tests carried by Riccardo Brigliadori demonstrated their validity 'beyond all limits'. In fact the light conditions and dangerous rays (UV + IR + blue light + reflections from clouds and dust in the atmosphere) have a particularly aggressive affect during the many hours of training or when competing and represent a very strict and unequivocal test. Barberini's Plz1.8 have been chosen for the top-of-the-range collections by such famous brands as Revo, Ray-Ban, Persol, Maui Jim.
The next competition Brigliadori and Barberini will be entering together with Plz1.8 will be the European Championships at Nitra, Slovakia, from July 9 through 23: the most demanding test of the sporting year from a physical as well as a psychological point of view. For Ricky, it's another challenge he's setting himself; he'll be counting on his powers of concentration and ability to 'read' the sky so as to choose the right route by observing the 'signs he needs to make a decision' with the objectivity that only a super-quality glass sun lens can guarantee.
