Bausch & Lomb to increase production in Ireland

Bausch & Lomb is planning to expand its Irish facility which already boasts a workforce of 1,700.

The American multinational's production and R&D center are situated at Waterford and it is considering expanding its production lines also thanks to guaranteed support from the IDA (Industrial Development Authority), the public body for the promotion of investments.

With its 1,700 employees at Waterford, the American multinational has been confirmed as the region's most important source of employment. Half way through the year, Bausch & Lomb recorded a 7% increase in sales, equal to 608.3 million dollars (493 million euros).
