Carrera at start of the first race in the World Motorcycle championships 2005 at Jerez

The World Motorbike Championships 2005 season will start with the Spanish Grand Prix to be held at Jerez on Sunday, April 10.

Carrera, the Safilo Group's sports brand, will be on the track with many initiatives, beginning with the sponsorship of the Lcr team managed by Lucio Cecchinello. The Carrera Sunglasses-lcr stable will race in the 250 cc class with drivers Roberto Locatelli and Casey Stoner.

But other World Motorbike Championship drivers will also be wearing Carrera sunglasses for the 2005 season: Loris Capirossi and Toni Elias for the MotoGp class; Hector Barbera, who will race in the 250 cc, and Mika Kallio in the 125 cc class, will also be Carrera testimonials.
