Carrera Ski Racing Team victories at Alpine World Cup
At Lenzerheide in Switzerland, the 2004-2005 season of the Alpine Skiing World Cup ended last weekend with numerous firsts and just as many successes for the athletes in the Carrera Ski Racing Team: champions of the caliber of Hermann Maier, Anja Paerson and Michael Walchhofer, just to mention a few, were also the protagonists at the World Championships in Bormio in January.
Anja Paerson, the twenty-three-year-old from Taernaby in Sweden, won the general World Cup and for the second year running confirmed her position at the top of world skiing. Third place in the giant slalom went to Maria Jose Rienda Contreras, who won the concluding GS of the season. Rainer Schoenfelder, third in the slalom on Sunday, March 13, came in second in the specialty class. The Downhill Cup went to Austrian Michael Walchhofer, the great confirmation of the season, who led the classification in this discipline from the start of the season. Thanks to his latest wins in the Downhill and SuperG at Kvitfjell, and to the points gained at the finals in Switzerland, Austrian champion Hermann Maier achieved an excellent third place in the World Cup final classification.
Recent success also for Carrera's Fireball helmet and Kimerik goggles worn by Hermann Maier at Assosport's 'Play Italia' gallery at the Ispo China exhibition (in Shanghai from March 14 to 17). The fame of Carrera products is the result of a design that is always innovative and the quality of the materials, researched by Safilo to guarantee the best performance by the athletes.
