Certottica meeting at Mido 2005
As usual, Certottica will sponsor a meeting at Mido, providing important updates on standards in the eyewear industry.
A conference focusing on 'Evolution in the standards governing ophthalmic-optics, sunglasses and ready-to-wear near vision spectacles' will take place on Friday, May 6, 2005 at 2:30 pm in the Asia Room at Pavillon 15.
Speakers will provide general updating on European and international eyewear standards and legislation. In addition, this year representatives of US and Australian standard-development agencies will also attend the meeting.
Enrico Tormen, President of Anfao Technical Commission will introduce the Conference and these reports:

- Ken Frederick, President of the Sunglass Association of America - 'Developments in the US ANSI Z 80.3 standard governing sunglasses';
- Stephen Dain of the Australian New South Wales University - 'Developments in AS/NZS1067:2003, the Australian standard governing sunglasses';
- Alberto Nunyez of Indo, Convener of the International Technical Committee WG8 ISO/TC 172 SC7 - 'Purpose and function of the new standard on electronic data transfer in the field of optics and frames';
- Gianluca Salerio, Coordinator of the Consumer Goods and Materials Division of UNI (the Italian Standardization Agency) - 'UNI and new legislation in the field of optics, ophthalmic eyewear, sunwear and ready-to-wear near vision spectacles';
