Dolce & Gabbana, Roberto Cavalli and Gucci awarded by Bain & Company

At the Business of Luxury summit in Shanghai, promoted recently in the Financial Times, three Italian fashion houses received awards from researchers at Bain & Company for their successful strategies and financial performance.

The 'Bain Business of Luxury Awards' went to Dolce & Gabbana, Roberto Cavalli and Gucci. Specifically, Roberto Cavalli and Dolce & Gabbana won the award for 'Fastest Growing Brand', thanks to highest yearly growth rate for sales over the 1999-2003 period. Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana were also awarded the 'Best Product and Collection Launch'.

The 'Best Operations' award went to Gucci for its distribution strategies and for having the most flexible supply chain.
