Fedon: first half-year results

The Fedon Group closed the first six months of 2005 with revenues of 29.134 million. The order portfolio, at top levels once more, stands at 18.178 million (+1.2%) and lays the basis for a positive turn to the year. Success for the division for top-of-the-range office and travel accessories with the Giorgio Fedon 1919 label and a 38.7% increase in sales.

The company is making a decisive stand against competition from the Far East and the weak dollar by constant product innovation and by readjusting production, which will lead to a considerable improvement in competitiveness and operating margins.

The Fedon Groups invests around 2.5% of its billings in innovation. New projects are therefore underway: one of these is dedicated to the development of 'Expoplay', a line of advertising displays for stores and companies.

The other project, patented worldwide by Fedon, is called Advanced Innovation Fedon On Surface (Adifos), a revolutionary way of personalizing all types of surfaces, including uneven ones.

As regards Giorgio Fedon 1919 collection, there is a plan to open new, directly managed monobrand stores in major cities. After the one at Vallesella di Cadore (Belluno), next to the company's historical headquarters, the first outlet with showroom will be opened in Milan before the end of November.
