Mugello GP: great excitement at Carrera

The Italy Grand Prix was full of excitement for fans from all over the world who went to Mugello to watch the fifth MotoGP trials. And Safilo, with its Carrera Sunglasses Lcr team, was one of the protagonists in the 250cc race.

Casey Stoner, the young Australian talent in the stable captained by Lucio Cecchinello, achieved an excellent fourth place for the second time running and allowed him to add 76 points to the third place in the general classification, 22 less than Pedrosa, top of the classification who was first over the finishing line. It was an unlucky race for team veteran Roberto Locatelli, who was 19th, but fell during the second circuit.

The Italy Grand Prix attracted famous stars of the worlds of music, sport and show business who came to Mugello to cheer their idols. There were many celebrities in the VIP room and in the team boxes: from Velvet to Ringo, from Manuela Arcuri to Valerio Staffelli and Danilo Di Luca, all motorbike enthusiasts and lovers of the eyewear collections produced by the Safilo Group. In the exciting atmosphere of the circuit, the guests not only enjoyed the races from the first rows, they also visited the paddocks and rooted for the Lcr Team drivers from the fences.

Great success also for initiatives carried on together with Dorna, the company that handles the MotoGP commercial and television rights, and with which Carrera has entered into an agreement to supply sunglasses for the entire staff on the track and in the boxes. A large crowd visited the inflatable structures devoted to viewers; the luckier ones were also able to enter the Carrera reserved areas to be photographed in the paddock with the drivers.

One of the numerous testimonials who have chosen to wear Carrera glasses (the 'race' collection is designed by Enzo Sopracolle and Sergio Borsato and the quality is guaranteed by the Safilo Group) is Loris Capirossi who gained an excellent third place in the MotoGP.

The Carrera Sunglasses Lcr team and its drivers Roberto Locatelli and Casey Stoner, the four testimonials, Loris Capirossi, Toni Elias, Hector Barbera and Mika Kallio, and the agreement entered into with Dorna, have once again confirmed Carrera as the reference brand in the exciting world of motorbikes.
