New Seiko treatment
Its continuous commitment into research has allowed Seiko to take a further step toward improving its products. The new Super Clean Coat treatment, with its superior characteristics and extraordinary advantages for the wearer, defines Seiko's new quality standard.
Seiko Super Clean Coat significantly improves water-repelling characteristics. The main advantage is the increased attraction carried on by the water molecules on the surface of the lens. Instead of spreading over the lens, surface tension causes the water to split into spherical drops that simply slide off. This makes Super Clean Coat suitable in wet or damp conditions, even when quick changes in temperature occur.
There is a mistaken common belief that lenses with anti-reflection treatment attract more dirt than those that haven't been treated. The truth is that the dirt is more visible because of the lack of reflections on the lens surface. Super Clean Coat is resistant to grease, oil and other dirt as they do not stick to the surface and can be easily removed.
There is no treatment that can completely prevent lens surfaces from becoming dirty, but it is possible to reduce the time spent cleaning them. Cleaning substances like oil and grease are problems that have been overcome; now all types of dirt can be easily and quickly removed. The lenses are treated on both sides.
To facilitate working with Super Clean Coat treated lenses, Seiko will provide a special protective adhesive and a short guide providing details and useful instructions for their proper application.
