New sponsorship for Oakley

Oakley Europe has announced its first participation as a sponsorship to a surf competition in Europe: 'Oakley Pro Junior Lacanau'.

This major competition in Surf Community will take place in Lacanau from the 11th to the 13th of August, just before the '6 stars Wqs' (6 stars World Qualified Series). The best Junior Professional surfers (before 21 years old) will compete in this competition: this is a first step for the '6 stars Wqs' during which the 44 best professional surfers qualify for the 'Wct' (World Championship Tour).

'This is a great opportunity for Oakley to sponsor such an event. We've decided to sponsor this Junior competition to be closer to our 'Core market' 18-25 years old. Thanks to this event, Oakley will have a large visibility in surf community', said Yann Martin, Surf Sports Marketing Manager for Europe.
