Oakley joins Vision Council of America

The Vision Council of America (Vca) has announced the addition of Oakley, Inc. as a Full Member to the organization. Oakley will participate in Vca's Frame Division.

'Becoming a Vca member represents an excellent opportunity for us to help contribute to the growth of the eyewear industry by helping shape the future, technological advancement and competitive landscape among our peer group,' said Becky Wilkinson, director of prescription eyewear, of Oakley, Inc.

Oakley's prescription business began in 1991 and now has three full-time production labs located in the United States, Ireland and Japan with free-form lens processing capabilities.

'We're glad to have Oakley come on board as a new member,' said Bill Thomas, CEO and executive vice president of VCA. 'Oakley has always been a leader in innovative products and incorporating new technology and we welcome them into the Vision Council of America. By joining together all elements of the industry, we can all achieve our common goals."

The addition of Oakley brings VCA's total membership to 170 including 127 Full Members, 39 Associate Members and four Trade Press Members.
