Progressive lenses even in the sun
A survey for the Commissione Difesa Vista (Vision Defense Commission) carried out in Italy by CRA (Customized Research & Analysis, preferred by ACNilesen) revealed that three out of four Italians of over forty suffer from sight defects. Half of these are long-sighted and there are still many who do not know how to properly tackle the problem of presbyopia, whether or not it is associated with other sight defects.
The best solution available on the market today are progressive lenses which at last provide close-up as well as distance vision without the need to wear different glasses and the consequent risk of losing or breaking them, etc.
At the beginning of the summer, however, it is even more important to associate vision comfort and the quality of life with correct and optimal protection from sun's rays, which can also cause serious damage to sight if they are underestimated.
According to the Piepoli Institute research commissioned by Cdv, Italians are aware (80%) of the possible risks involved in exposing their eyes to the sun.
However, this figure more or less matches the one which shows that for 95% of the interviewees, aesthetics is the main factor when choosing sunglasses. Image seems to be important to Italian men and women at any time of the year, particularly during the summer when breaks from work and leisure time bring us into closer contact with other people.
From this viewpoint, technology and research help us with the development of sun progressive lenses. An effective tool which guarantees health, comfort and good looks. According to the survey of the Commissione Difesa Vista, almost one out of two people (41.5%) are able to immediately wear progressive lenses without any need to get used to, whereas the other half (44.8%) states that already after a few days functionality and comfort are total and complete. A certainty that at last makes this product accessible to everyone.
