Transitions lenses to fight against reflections outdoors

For those fond of the outdoor life who want to enjoy themselves without risk, adequate eye protection is fundamental. Compared to the growing awareness about skin damage caused by UV rays, the importance of eye protection is still dangerously underestimated. It is universally recognized, for example, that direct exposure to the sun's rays is the main sight hazard, but very little attention is given to the fact that UV rays reflected from water, asphalt, the snow and even from grass, can be hugely distracting and cause eye discomfort and fatigue, not to mention more serious long-term damage.

One of the solutions provided by modern technology are photochromic lenses, i.e. clear and transparent ophthalmic lenses that darken when exposed to sunlight.

Transitions are photochromic lenses which adapt automatically to UV ray levels. In internal environments, they appear exceptionally clear, but when moved outdoors, in a few seconds they become dark like sunglasses. They block 100% of UV rays, dangerous even with an overcast sky, and they can filter out 80% of UV rays. Therefore, anyone who normally wears glasses and finds it inconvenient and irritating to have to continually change from transparent lenses to graduated sunglasses, can enjoy clear vision and protection in a single pair of glasses.

But in addition to this, Transitions lenses also inhance vision quality by considerably increasing contrast, they improve vision comfort and reduce eye fatigue so that everyone can concentrate on the activity being carried out without irritation or distraction, whatever the weather conditions.

Transitions photochromic lenses are sold in major opticians' stores and are available in gray or brown and in a wide variety of shapes that are compatible with all types of frames (fashion, sport).
